sem1ended! :)

1st sem ended on a good note last night! had supper at newton circus w classmates to celebrate. :)
so what have i achieved/learned in e one sem? it was really a journey of faith and relying on His grace and strength. many times i thought i wont make it, but that many times God showed Himself real. i can't say i survived the whole sem until the results are out but im thankful to have come thus far. :)

mohana! my tea kaki and "partner in crime"(yknow what i mean heh) thanks for being sucha great friend and classmate! your creativity has made memorizing stuff easier and needless to say fun! =D boy draws grass. hahah.

uncle kennth! though i only know you for barely a week, you're funny! you made exams more bearable. and your hilarious incidents with pens and waking up at 3am to shower. hahah. =p thankfully we didnt have to exchange exam paper ytd. hahah. thanks for helping me in so many ways! and for mugging with me! continue doing big things for God! you're inspiring! :)

aloy & yi ming! though i only know you guys for like 2 days, you guys are hilarious! made me laugh until stomach ache 1hr before exam. hahah! thanks for all the fun and laughters! thankfully we didnt have to jump out of e window in e exam hall ytd! hahah.

feelinguselessvsfeelinguseful

i really struggle with lit. no matter how hard i try, i just cant. today's discussion with classmates on ELT 109's poem, i didnt contribute much and i feel so lousy. i feel so useless cos i'm not helping the situation at all. i really hate feeling this way. :( i came home feeling damn sian, damn depressed. i just wanted to hide in my own emo corner again and shut from the world. just basically, i felt damn lousy about myself.

whereas ytd, i helped so many of them in ELG 103! i taught them how to memorize the phonetics table(its really quite a big part in the exam, like at least 20 marks so its not smthg you want to give up on) and answered some of their questions. i felt good. i felt more useful then. after e paper everyone thanked me cos phonetics really came up and it was really 20 marks and they could answer by just e table i taught them. so i felt good. i came out of e exam hall smiling cos i survived the paper. thr was only one 15 marks question tt threw me off and a few tricky ones here and there but tt aside, overall it was manageable so i came out smiling, feeling alot better than monday's ELT 107 paper. and after hearing so many ppl thanked me, i felt even better.
this is the truth, we all like to feel good about ourselves. we all like to feel useful; like you've contributed to the discussion or you've helped someone in some way or another. that feels good right? i like that.

but what happens when its the down side? which in life, happens more often than the good days right? i mean on most days, you feel more useless than useful right? wells at least tts for me. what happens then when you feel useless? where/who do you seek comfort from?
many times, i know the best way to seek comfort is to go to God. the best way to unwind is to sit at His feet. the best way to "escape" is to go to the word of God. BUT! how often do we do that? how often do you seek God first instead of seeking the world first?

just some food for thought. goodnight.

on another note, two down, two more to go! and i'll complete one sem in uni. :)

after so much countdown, the day has come.

lots of first time tmr...
- first time taking exam at night.
- first exam in sim.
- first exam at the university level.
- first lit exam in my entire life.
- first essay-based exam.
i am so unprepared, so nervous (but yet no urgency to study, what irony)

God please have mercy on me and please be gracious to me. :((

i may appear calm but trust me, its all a mask. trust is, IM DAMN FREAKING SCARED!

randoms

i'm supposed to be studying. exams on monday. 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th.

i'll be heading to sabah, malaysia in dec with my cellguys to attend silly lily's wedding! excite! gonna be thr for 3 days 3 nights. taking that as a 'holiday' too before the new sem starts in jan! my dec is packed to the max! cell christmas party (unsure of date yet), DCC on 14th, Bangkok from 19-24th and then its christmas. leaving for sabah on 27th night to 31st, and the its new years! so my last two weeks of dec is like travelling! woohoo! just back for christmas then i'm gone till new years. FUNNNN!

two weddings to attend end of this year. thats when you know you're old i guess.

extremely nervous for exams, maybe cos its my first exam in unisim. first university exam. first time in a long time (since sec 4 i think) taking exam in a HALL. dunno what to expect. dunno how difficult it is to score or even pass at the uni level. but i will survive, for God's grace is sufficient - that i'm sure of. :)

oh somebody commented that she has never seen somebody so happy to talk abt work before. hahah because i cant say enough how much i love my job! :)) <3

eventfulday!

a quick one. its 5 in the morning, obviously i havent slept.

completed ELT 109 TMA! i only started on it like last night but thank God i managed to finish it today! i cheonged fr 12am+ till now. and submitted once to do a plagiarism check - 2%! WAHAHAHA! and guess whr this 2% came from. MY NAME & PI NUMBER! hahah beat that. im extremely proud of myself. hahah.
i knew i had to re-edit it again but didnt think of doing it today. wanted to just check plagiarism so i have a rough idea how im doing. but e percentage was so low, it gave me e motivation to do it immediately cos dun wanna waste it right! so i continued working on it till now.
while ELG105 was what i started on last week. and its still stuck at 80% completed cos my plagiarism is quite high, i foresee i'll take quite some time to edit so i haven work on tt yet. but just thankful! thankful that i survived another ordeal of cheonging assignments into late night. this is part of my life now. ohwells.

modules registration for next sem is also done. I TOOK A DAMN TWO HOURS TO DO IT! cos bb was giving me problem and i had no idea what to do! and had no one to ask cos it was like almost 12am already. so i called my "personal unisim helpdesk" and seek advise. heh thank God for seniorrs! love them man!
and now i just pray that i'll be able to do my four level 2 core mods next sem so that i can smoothly go on to do other "electives".

and also, hotel for bkk booked! gonna be staying at centre point pratunam! spent alot for this trip already cos its peak period and we booked quite late too but its ok luh, not like i travel very often also. am looking forward! ^^

so yes, you can tell, i had quite an eventful day! always thankful for days like this. and now, while the world is waking up to go to work, i'm heading to bed. gdmorning!
